Coming off 2003’s Transatlanticism and earning new fans from The O.C., Plans introduced Death Cab to an even larger audience thanks to the singles “Soul Meets Body” and “I Will Follow You into the Dark.” It debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200, then a career high, and is certified Platinum by the RIAA.
“Plans is an album that changed the trajectory of Death Cab for Cutie forever,” says frontman Ben Gibbard. “It was our major label debut, it went Platinum, and earned us our first Grammy nominations.”
“We are only playing a few shows in its honor as we’re currently working on our next studio album,” he adds. “But we would be remiss to not take the opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary in some fashion.”
